The Morgan Dressage Association Awards of Excellence are given to the five highest scoring Morgans at each level in United States Dressage Federation recognized competitions in tests, musical freestyle and dressage sport horse breeding classes during the competition year (Nov. 1 through Oct. 31.) that are ridden, handled or owned by an MDA member. The American Morgan Horse Association recognizes Morgans competing in events against all breeds with two special award programs -- AMHA High-Point Open Competition Awards and Morgan Medallion Awards. In addition, the American Morgan Horse Institute awards two scholarships for dressage riders. 2010 Open Competition Winners |
The United States Dressage Federation offers a variety of award programs to reward achievement in dressage. In the USDF awards system there is an award of achievement goal for nearly every type and level of rider, starting with the USDF Qualified Rider Patch for achievement at Training Level, on up to USDF Grand Prix Horse of the Year. In between are the popular USDF Rider Medals (gold, silver and bronze), USDF All-Breeds awards and many more. AMHA sponsors the All-Breeds awards open to registered Morgans.

The Morgan Dressage Association sponsored the breed’s only nationwide Regional Dressage Championships at three Morgan championship shows with strong United States Dressage Federation recognized divisions in 2000 and 2001. |
