The Morgan Dressage Association sponsored a Morgan Individual Breed Class at Dressage at Devon in 2004, 05 and 06. DAD is the largest Sport Horse Breeding Show in North America, attracting more than 30,000 visitors and hundreds of horses from throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, the Performance Show that follows the breed show has some of the best riders and horses in the country competing at the FEI levels. MDA discontinued sponsoring the class after three years because of low entries for Morgans after the first year, but encourages breeders to enter other divisions - the open classes or in one of the Warmblood registries that accept Morgans (American Warmblood Society and American Warmblood Registry). We need to show the rest of the sport horse world some of the wonderful horses being bred today within our breed. The MDA board would consider returning to Devon is membership expressed strong enough interest in a Morgan class.

More than 40 different breeds are represented in the breed show classes - here's your opportunity to promote Morgans in the country's most prestigious sport horse venues. The show is always scheduled for the last week in September - the Individual Breed Class day is typically Thursday..
If you intend to enter the breed show, it's very important to enter early - entries are limited and many who wait to enter don't get into the show. The best bet is to send in your entries within a week or so of the show's opening date - don't wait until close to the closing date!
